A few months ago had it medically confirmed that have a TBI from the incident. And that memory issues come with that.
Ok, so after 2 years of being told it wasn't a big deal and that was it. With that medical diagnosis could work further on ways to manage it. One suggestion by the medical expert was to get riding kit and such better organized in a way that could keep track of kit better then digging through a pack. As well as helping manage stress and anxiety about memory issues and forgetting kit for a ride. Ok, so bike tools already taken care of so that means the bike light stuff. Got and idea and down to the local army surplus store.
At the local army surplus store Smith Army Surplus found a zippered electronics pouch while a bit big might work. So picked it as even if didn't fully meet requirements had some other ways could use it.
While the military surplus pouch worked it was way to big height wise and the riding lights where basically swallowed up by the pouch. This made it harder to access them when I needed to. So this needed a similar but more appropriate solution. And I had one.
The guys at Original Free Range had in January started making and selling their Stash Bag for lights/electronics. And while looking at some gear on their online store had spotted it.
When it arrived got it out and swapped the bike lights and cinch mounts over to the Stash bag. And not only did everything fit in it was also reachable. It wasn't swallowed up and needing to dig around to find one of the cinch mounts.
The whole idea around the Stash Stash is a good idea as it allows one to put all their bike lights, mounts, and even charging cable in one pouch. And makes it easy to move it from pack to pack or to an Enduro Bro Posterior Waist Satchel if yours is big enough to fit it that is..
Being able to put all the lights into the Stash bag is a way at least for me to manage my memory issues caused by the TBI and PTSI. While it does seem minor in truth it is not only forgetting the little things that creates stress and triggers anxiety. It is the extra overthinking around worrying if you actually forgot or it is the TBI cause memory issues. Which can potentially trigger a bad day at least for me. This is a way for me to manage it.
While it would have been easy to write a simple thing about the Original Free Range Stash bag and go on about the cool camo pattern of the fabric- well camo is cool. And how many lights it could hold. Rather share how this is to help manage memory issues caused by TBI and Mental Illness like PTSI. Because I think that is cool that it can help with that in my case. And maybe this will help another who manages what they have in their head.
