Found out about this spot from someone else by word of mouth.
And after a previous visit to hike with a friend to scout it. Knew it was worth coming back even if it might be a shorter ride. But the trail made up for lack of distance by being challenging. This is part of the Canadian Shield and has granite rock which is better than Limestone.
Took the left turn to do the longer bit first. Which at least for me ended at the spot where could look at the lake. But this wasn't the true goal of the day.
After doing the longer trail to the left came back to the junction and headed out to the shorter trail. Which had the bench with the better mid ride rest stop.
Before the bench had to get the high point photo looking out to Crow Lake.
And after a bit more it was the bench with the better view of Crow Lake. Nothing like finding a bench in a remote minimal use trail system. No cold malt beverage this time but a slightly warm coke instead.
And it was nice to sit for a bit on a hot day. While being somewhere new.
After it was back to the Dirtbag Ute to eat a weebit of food before heading out.
It is definitely a trail system that makes up the lack of distance by being tough. And that is not a bad thing either. As what matters more is rode some where new.
It should be noted that this is a backcountry trail area. There is next to no cell service so your limited if things go wrong. Plan for all weather and contingencies. You will also have to bring your own food and drinks.
Remember to pack out what you pack in.
