Improvement isn’t just about big visible changes that make things better. It is also the little ones that may make no visible improvements but makes things a wee bit easier in small ways.
Originally to reduce the amount of bend in my front brake cable tried at the brake lever a rigid v-brake needle. With my cable activated disc brakes at least to me it worked. Between finally using up my little supply of v-brake noodles and getting some new Paul's Klamper brakes it was time to update things.
Looking online at various mountain bike forums saw a few times riders mentioning flexible v-brake noodles. So ordered some and installed the first one on the front brake. The flexible noodle made it easier to decrease the kink in the cable housing near the caliper and doesn’t compress. And so far seems to be doing the job well on the Stylus.
The next time do the rear caliper of the Stylus it will get the same add on. Have two more that will be installed when the Gravity Dropper on the Wideangle when do the next cable replacement.
Not a big thing that will lead to anything noticeable in the improvement area but might do something marginal like less damaged brake housing from bending and such over time. And while not a big deal to anyone else it is to my head and if this goes towards reducing any overthinking that is worth a marginal gainz.
