With the trails either mud or still ice while needing to get out. And with the temperatures starting to warm and mentally needing to do anything. Decision was made to spin the Kingsford Loop. A loop with minimal road and next to no cars. Which is a big deal with my PTSD as busy main roads are not a option. And loops like this keep things at a manageable level.
The Kingsford Loop I mapped out a year ago as was looking for something to ride with as close to minimal cars. With only 3-4 cars every ride had a winner of a loop.
So on Saturday headed down to Kingsford to ride the loop for the first time in 2021. And not knowing if all the snow had melted yet had zero expectations of it being a no issue ride. And really the first longish ride of the year. After parking at Kingsford it was time to be off.
The gravel roads where as expected ice and snow free with the usual braking bumps.
After the right turn at Buttermilk Falls it was into the Unmaintained road and as was kind of expecting there was the snow. And to be safe dismounted and hoofed the hill as at this point was just easier to hoof it to be safe. Once cleared of the unmaintained road it was more gravel road heading back to Kingsford and the Ute.

Completely by accident came upon the instant add boiling water and such Pho packets. Which make for an easy and simple quick to make post ride or adventure refuel. Which has become even more important to carry now days with no access really to normal fast food sources.
After enjoying the soup and the view it was home time and chill more after a easy first ride on the loop.
